Whoever drinks beer, he is quick to sleep; whoever sleeps long, does not sin; whoever does not sin, enters Heaven! Thus, let us drink beer!
For several months leading up to 29th June 2014, The Masons Arms became Pram Race HQ. Alan Benns and the Teddington Society have revived this much-loved local tradition and 2014 saw eight teams competing, representing local pubs, firms, clubs and associations.
The Race set off from The Masons at 1pm, with teams having timed departures at 1 minute intervals. They raced up to the Abercorn before travelling all through the town, stopping at all the pubs along the way. They finished at the Teddington Fair at the LandMark, where finishing times were recorded by Hilary and Ian.
The Pram Race raised approximately £3,000 for local charities and, as they say, a good time was had by all.

That man (sic) of all virtues who runs the pub – a man with a smile for his customers and impartial to all their arguments; above all an expert on the conditioning and serving of beer.
